Multiple Exposure Serac Climbing

I got my turn and climbed several routes along the serac ridge. Here I am ascending the upper portion of one of the easier routes, this one was not quite vertical and the mini-gully at center provided a series of easy footholds. Ice climbing is lots of fun, and a great change of pace from normal rock climbing trips (which I often tend to avoid in favor of doing a ski mountaineering trip somewhere, even in mid-summer). Hopefully I'll get to do a few real alpine ice climbs during the summer and fall of 1999, and maybe even some more serac climbing just for fun.

(Simulated multiple exposure, digitally composited from three photographs.)
