Somehow I made it safely through the chute without falling, into the still steep but much safer terrain of the open bowl below (we skied the gap just above me). Note that both Alex and I wore helmets during these sections. We had brought them with us in case of rockfall from Red Banks, and it seemed prudent to wear them while skiing the chute and this steep bowl.
