Since the 1980 eruption, most people consider Mount Saint Helens to be just an ugly shell of its formerly beautiful self. But when snow-covered and viewed from the south, the truncated cone of Saint Helens still retains a healthy measure of symmetry and even beauty. This view is from beside Forest Road 90, near Swift Reservoir.
