Location: Southern Iceland,
30 miles (50 km) NW of Vik
Lat / Long: 63.8° N, 19.6° W
Volcanic Type: Stratovolcano
Volcanic Status: Dormant
First Ascent:
First Ski Descent:
Skiable Vertical: about 3000 ft (950 m)



Tindfjallajokull is a moderate-sized stratovolcano topped by a caldera which is filled in flat with an icefield. It is located just southeast of Hekla, and is supposed to be a fine ski ascent and descent. The two highest peaks in the massif are called Ymir (4797 ft / 1462 m) and Yma (4751 ft / 1448 m).
