Before skiing back down, I decided to try the 105 mm zoom lens on Mount Rainier. Compared to the similar photo I took in 1997 with a non-zoom camera, this one is much sharper and clearer. Then it was off skiing towards the false summit to reunite with my group. We skied down fine corn snow below the false summit, which eventually softened into slush down low. We managed to ski down to about 7000 ft (2100 m), a run of over 5300 vertical feet (1600 m). Not bad for late July!Trip Introduction | Previous Page | Next Page
